i have to say that the fear challenge was fun! Though i kind of lose face for asking a guy for his number which i have never done before, it was in fact a test of my courage. But i still feel guilty because for the stage 3 where we had to create a scene, my group actually came up with a couple fight idea and we did it in the library. I had to slap Ruslan!! i have never slap anyone and never intended too!! I was told by Ruslan i'm like the first person/ girl to slap him! I felt more guilty after hearing that! sorry Ruslan!!! For the sake of lms, you have to sacrifice your macho face! hahhaa!

Looking back at our 1st unit which was self awareness and self esteem, it brings me back to my old days where I never feel confident about myself. I believe that I wasn’t able to accomplish any goals that I set and that I will never taste success. It then leads to my poor grades. Getting scolding from parents and endless warnings from teacher to start bucking up doesn’t help. In fact, it made me feel worst and I felt so useless that no one has faith in me. I was afraid that I would plunge into depression so I seek help from a student counselor in school. I guess it was a blessing in disguise. He told me there’s nothing much he could help, accept to help me to start believing in myself. He told me the first step to achieve this was to set up my goals and believing in myself that I was going to achieve the goals that I’ve set. It was amazing how those simple steps leads me to who I am now. I become more confident of myself. The falls I faced in life doesn’t pull me down; instead it helps me to be a stronger person, being able to face more challenges ahead of me.

I strongly believe that time management is very important. Based on unit 2 of LMS, we often believe that 24 hours doesn’t seem to be enough for us to complete tasks that we are suppose to do. This then leads to this phrase which we often hear, be it from people around you like your friends or coming from you yourself, “too many things to do, too little time”. One main factor that leads to time constraint is procrastination. Often we know we have to complete certain projects or homework, our brain will divert our focus to somewhere else such as watching TV or just browsing the net. Therefore, time management has become essential in every one of us. Without time management, even having 48hrs per day won’t be enough. We must get our priorities right first in order to achieve the tasks/goals we plan to achieve.

Be it discussions or just casual talks between you or your friends, it will come to your mind how communication has become a very powerful tool in life. Without communication, friendship will not even exist in the first place. In time of conflicts or misunderstanding, you will realized that without communication, nothing can be resolved. It is important for you to listen to other before you want others to listen to you. The way you communicate with others is also important. Often, the way you speak and how to speak reflects your personality and people will begin to judge you. Through unit 3 of LMS, I believe everyone will be able to learn communication skills. It will not just be a lesson learn during LMS. It can be lesson that can last you a lifetime too.

Managing anger, fear and conflict interlink to one another as it involves emotional pain. Looking at Albert Ellis’s theory, rational therapy, I believe a person’s personal philosophy contains beliefs that lead to his own emotional pain. Based on my experience, I often fear of taking exams as I believe that I will fail. It is my belief that I brought about fear in me. In order to manage your feelings, you must be able to be in control of yourself. No one is in control of you except yourself.

Lastly, let’s touch on the word success. Different people have their own definition of success. To me, success is to achieve the happiness in life and the goals of your life. No one can decide for me what or how my success is going to be. & I believe that this success can only be achieve if you have passion in wanting to achieve it. No use saying what you want, but if you didn’t put your heart and soul into it, nothing is achievable and you will never taste success.

From LMS assignment 2, I have learnt more in depth about self motivation. I believe that once one’s is lack of self motivation, it’s going to be hard for him to achieve his goals. Self motivation is essential to achieve what you want because it is within your control and no one else. You can’t always depend on others to motivate you and keep you going but instead depend on yourself.

Upon doing research, I have come by articles that really motivate me and I kept for further references. I agree that lack of direction was one of the 4 primary reasons why we lose motivation. Putting this into my experience, everyone wants to achieve success and often thinks of the primary effects, neglecting the secondary effect that actually is more important than the primary effects. We sometimes only think of the aftermath more than the process on how to achieve the success. Thus, when we realize we don’t know where to start from, we often lose motivation because the whole process of it is much more difficult than what you expect it be. These words such as ,`die uh, cannot make it’ often comes out of our mouth which results in negative thinking that will then affect your self motivation.

This assignment has in fact improve the level of self motivation in me and I’m up to face any challenges ahead of me because I’m more confident of myself and I believe nothing is unachievable as long as you believe you can. This project was a test of our time management. Having so many projects in hands, I have to admit that it was hard to juggle all of them as their date dues were near to one another. We have to sacrifice our weekends to complete our projects as we can’t fit them in into our curriculum timetable. Making the video wasn’t an easy task too as none of us actually has any experience on taking or making a video. It was overall a new experience for all of us. However, we keep ourselves going by motivating each other and pushing each other ahead so as to ensure we all progress and move ahead together in achieving the best for our assignment.

I believe that this assignment has made us closer as a group as the discussions and meeting has help us in our communication and create a bond between each and every one of us. Though we were less prepared for the trial as compared to the previous assignment, I believe that good work needs greater efforts thus much more time. I believe every one of us put in the best effort we could and I’m proud that all of us sacrifice our time willingly although it eats up our resting time, hanging out time or even family time. With this, I hope my group will do well and that our hard work will be paid off. Lms has brought us all together, we have all learn better life management skills and I hope it will be a lesson that will last us all a lifetime and will help us through in the future. ((:

*Thoughtful- I think of others before myself in most situations.

*Happy- I think I’m always happy because I think life is too short for too much unhappiness.

ii. From the list of adjectives that you scored 3, identify the ones which you best like about yourself. Why are they important to you?

*Happy- I think I’m always happy because I think life is too short for too much unhappiness.

*Cheerful- I can turn someone’s stormy day into a bright sunny one. & It’s hard to see me angry.

*Outgoing-I can blend well with my surroundings & I will not people make me feel left out or awkward

iii. From the list of adjectives that you scored 0, write down the ones you would like to improve. How are you going to develop these characteristics?

*negative -i want to be more optimistic. Though sometimes i know life is full of ups & downs, there's a need for me to think positive & look at the brighter side in order to keep life's going.

Reflections:

Public Self

This is what I share with others about me:

I’m a happy-go-lucky person!!

Private Self

Think about how much of your private self you are willing to share. What are the benefits or drawbacks to sharing aspects of your private self?

I want to have some of my personal life preserve just for myself.

Blind Spot

What are some of things that you’ve learn about yourself from others that cause you to wonder or to see yourself differently?

I’m shy! Something that I just discover from CK, my group mate.

Refer to your Personal Inventory and write down 5 affirming statements that you can make about yourself?

I'm a very HAPPY person, for sure!
I'm very outgoing!!!
I'm SELF AWARE!
I'm principled & i hold on to MY BELIEFS!
I'm DAMN CHEERFUL!!

What are some of the limiting beliefs that you hold? Take a few minutes to reflect on the impact it has on your self-esteem, your relationships, and actions.

I used to trust the people around me easily. Not until after a few experiences, i believe that we shouldn't trust other people easily. Sometimes, the one you are closed with is your greatest enemy. Though in some relationship like friendship etc, trust plays an important role but there's a limit to it to avoid yourself from being hurt at the end of the day. Due to that, I've never trust anyone fully now. It takes a whole load of efforts to earn the trust, but it takes just one negative action to destroy it.

I used to think that I'm useless & that people around me are so much better than me.Due to that, i felt belittled. It was then I started to come out of my comfort zone & be as good as what I thought of other. & now, I'm proud of where I am now because i finally feel who I am really now & are more confident of myself. I'm not easily swayed & have my feet planted firmly on the ground of what i believe in.

My Another Next 10 years Plan

At the age of 22, I want to get a stable job with a big income. A lawyer, a businesswoman or CEO of a company.

At 25, I want a bungalow home so that my parents can taste a life of luxury & comfort.

At 25 or 26, I want to get marry with the Man of my life.

At 27, I want to start a family. I want to ensure that my children will have a conducive environment to grow up in.

At 30, I want to open a partnership business with my husband & have a successful business career.

At 35, I want to be a housewife & let people handle my business. As a woman, I want to carry my responsibilities as a good daughter, wife & mother.

At 40, I want to travel over the world with my husband & children.

At 45, I want to go pilgrimage, as it is one of the essential things a Muslim should do.

By 55, I hope I would be a grandmother. I can then feel how it is to be a daughter, a wife, a mother & a grandmother. It will be great to get to be what a woman could be in this life.

By 56, I want to retire & spend the remaining years with my loved ones & do what I want to do in my “bucket list”.

I agree to a large extent that self-awareness plays an important role in each & everyone of us. The importance of self-awareness is inevitable. Self-awareness as defined, a thorough understanding of who you are, your values & how you perceive the world. I'm very sure we have come by articles about teenagers suffering from anorexia that can cause death. These teenagers are too critical of themselves that they don't appreciate who they are. This is due to lack of self-awareness & self esteem. Someone who have self awareness & self esteem are full of confidence & feel comfortable with themselves, no matter how ugly they make look like or how fat they are. I believe that no one is perfect & being able to accept who you are is a great accomplishment.

We will go through different stages of life & as we went through them, we will discover more about ourselves. We will discover something about ourselves that we may like or dislike. If you choose to be pessimist, you will never be able to accept your weaknesses. However if you are vice versa, you will love yourself & look at the bright side of your life.

Life is a roller coaster. We face successes & failures in life. It's not easy to pick yourselves up after a fall & recover from it. That's when self esteem plays a part.

I've felt both sweet & sour of life. I believe that every falls that you faced & being able to pick yourself up after that, you will eventually be a stronger person. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. & having wonderful people around you play an important role as well. Parents, of course, plays a crucial role in a child's life. I'm glad that i have supportive & understanding parents that are always there for me. Not forgetting, a wonderful bunch of friends as well.

Life is a road that i want to keep going. Bitter, sweet or sour, life is a wonderful journey if you enjoy every minute of it. Though life, like a road, isn't always smooth, we must go on in life because there's more to life than just unhappiness.

Embrace yourselves & start loving who you are if you still haven't because when you manage to discover the real you, the feeling is magical. ((:
